How common is apologizing in Vietnam culture?
I know from spending over a year now between Laos and Thailand (and some time in Cambodia) that even though it is common to learn how to say “sorry” it is actually not very commonly used.
In contrast to American or European or even Japanese culture where saying “sorry” or an equivalent “excuse me” can happen dozens of times a day, in Lao or Thai culture you really only say “Sorry” for a truly significant reason, it would be surprising to say it multiple times in one day or even once in many cases.
How is Vietnamese culture regarding this?
