Great podcasts its really helped with my portuguese. I find the Brazillians use a lot of slangs is there a lesson on those coming soon? .thanks
I enjoy these podcasts more than any other site for Portuguese that I have found because of the Pedogogy of listen repeat and you can see the transcripts on PDF documents which also show you a key/target language section. The only problem is that there is not enough in each lesson. If you do make future lessons, my suggestion is, put more phrases in the same time frame (a 5 minute podcast session).
The content is great, but why seperate “Thank you”, “Bye”, “Hi”, “you’re welcome” into different podcasts, all of those can be hit in just one. Not that the accompanying stories are not interesting because the cultural content is good, but I find myself just learning this language and wanting more from each lesson, thanks.
Thanks for your podcasts, I’m planning a trip to Brasil this summer and I found it very helpful. I found the link pretty quickly thanks to iTunes, and I really believe these will be a great help, because you take time to explain the meanings and the use of the words in real situations. Also, the PDF make a good support for learning the spelling of those words. I’m amazed!!

Question about Lesson 1-Thank you, should Obrigado be pronounced to end in an o for female or an a for female? I get very confused on that difference.

Lots of Portuguese words change this way. It’s because of grammatical gender. In Portuguese, women say “obrigada” and men say “obridago.”

The Survival Phrases series does include some slang terms but PortuguesePod101.com has much more. You might want to check out Absolute Beginner lesson 2 for a dialogue that has some very basic (and extremely common) slang.
Thank you for the lessons I really enjoy to listen, but I really I would like to have more lessons. This podscasts is the best one. I like in the way that you explain and the pronunciation to each word. I be listen other one but it not really good.

This is the most helpful out of all of the Brazilian Portuguese–or any other language for that matter– resource I’ve ever used. I’m still a bit confused though. Since ‘obrigado’ is kind of like refusing an offer, does that mean another word for ‘thank you’ should be used? Or should ‘muito obrigado’ be used so it doesn’t seem like you are refusing an offer? Or can you still just use ‘obrigado’ without someone thinking you don’t want something?

Great stuf! I love the anecdotal stories. They help put proper usage into context with universal situations we’ve all been in. Thanks for also having a native speaker pronouncing. Not only is there a slight difference in intonation etc, but a certain guttural sinus that is a key attraction to me in lessening to speak Brazilian Portuguese.
